PLA Western Australia Open Space Planning Conference
MAKING PLACES, CHANGING SPACES is a one day conference examining current issues around open space planning, recreation and leisure, planned for 28 July 2010.
The conference will focus on the following key themes: • Open space planning and planting for water restrictions • Retaining our right to recreate; • Determination of public open space needs and priorities; • Appropriate use of public open space; and • Open Space Planning —issues and opportunities
The conference has broad relevance to • elected members; • Managers of Infrastructure; • land use planners; • leisure planners; AND • Those responsible for open space management and operations

About the Conference The United in Play Conference will attract over 100 participants from local government, urban and landscape design, developers, early childhood, education sectors, community groups and the playground industry from around Australia. Keynote and plenary speakers will address topics that are of global, national and local interest. Workshop presenters will encourage interaction, discussion and debate covering an exciting range of topics. Participants of the conference forum and workshops will be provided with the opportunity to reflect on shared experiences and strategies, and apply these to their own work practices to unite us in the future direction and provision of play opportunities.
Showcase your signature playground at our Play Day Post Conference Tour of Perth’s Parks and Playgrounds The Play Day has been an integral part of past PlayRight conferences and has proven highly popular (early bookings essential). This is your opportunity to promote the success of your signature playgrounds to our local, interstate and international participants. Please forward the details, design and background of the park /playground. Playgrounds outside metro area will require powerpoint/video presentation prior to bus tour.
